You're hot. Everything feels dry. Dry mouth. Dry skin. Dry cough. THIRSTY. Maybe you’re feeling the irritation of the mucosa from your nasal passageways to the throat, all the way down to the lungs. This might be due to dry heat from living in SoCal, maybe you partied too hard the night before and water just isn’t doing the trick or for some, you’re experiencing seasonal allergies. You’re drinking water but you still feel dry, can’t thirst your quench, and it’s uncomfortable.
The Helper: Get JUICY from the inside out, boost hydration and soothe yourself by simply stirring 1-2 tsp. of the Hibiscus Prickly Pear Cool Down Powder into a cup of cool water, your AM smoothie, water bottle for the hike or jog, a glass of sparkling water on the rocks, or add it to a cocktail. Drink a glass after your long sweaty workout, after a big day of working in the sun, or put it in your water bottle and drink it throughout the day.
The Botanicals: Oh golly, how lovely this formula is. It’s actually one of Zizia’s most underutilized formulas, and I think one of its best, most versatile, and fun ones! It’s a supreme dream for soothing the mucosa, for the SKIN, and for digestion. Where there lies irritation of the mucosa on the inside or out this brew of demulcent herbs may be incredibly helpful at soothing, hydrating, and easing discomfort. The mucilaginous polysaccharides contained in these demulcent herbs have a slippery and slimy texture to them, they are actually better suited as a cold water extraction vs. hot, and may help to restore the body with healthy mucus and feed the gut flora! This formula may be helpful for hangovers paired with the Liver Tincture. Drink a big glass the morning after and take 3 ml of tincture. Cool trick, you can make this into a paste and apply it to bug bites or turn it into a face mask by adding water to a small handful and applying it topically.*
